Filed to perfection

A few posts ago I mentioned a pink Baldwin named "Pepto" that had a buzzing damper wire. I also mentioned that aside from over bending the wire around the strings there was a new idea gleaned from a Hamburg Steinway D which involves filing the wire instead. I passed by Paul Bruno's shop today and got a photo of the filed wire. It's interesting to see this because while we all like to believe that the great piano factories have it all figured out, it seems that sometimes even they have to get creative to fix a problem. It is worth mentioning that Paul feels that the damper job on this Hamburg D is the best damper job he's ever seen. Are the people in Hamburg crazy?
